"Making Life Easier"

‘I made the decision to look after my mum full time two years ago.  I have good family support but unfortunately due to their busy life schedules I often didn’t get any brake for months at a time.  But now myhomecare.ie look after mum one afternoon a week which I feel helps both mum and I.  She often goes on outings.  I have a chance to get my hair done or just go for a walk.  It really has enhanced both our lives’ - Joan Donnybrook

It is a big commitment to become a full time carer for a loved one. While it is very rewarding, it can also be quite demanding and take its toll on your own health.  It is important for both you and your loved one to take a break from each other from time to time.  Giving you or your loved one the opportunity to attend an evening class, go shopping or even take a holiday break.
  
The homecare team can provide respite care services.  This entails providing any level of care from 1 hour up to 6 weeks.  Respite care can be delivered in your own home or one of care team can accompany your loved on holidays etc.
